So, not getting Skyrim collectors. $100 for the statue...nope.
ReplyDeleteOrigin and Steam...be honest, we all saw this coming. I think this is a logical progression, looking at it from a corporate standpoint. I know you guys don't like it, but this makes perfect sense. If they think they will make more money side-stepping Steam (and they will in the long run), then they're gonna do it. The ACTUAL streamlining that will occur is when someone makes a client to run all your clients. You have Origin saying you can't sell our games, and Valve saying well we didn't wanna anyway... I think you will see deeper discounts on most of these games as Steam loses the revenue of EA, and EA needs the site traffic.
And to validate my point, this conversation sounds REMARKABLY like Apple Store for everything, except they made rules that maybe didn't make sense. I would rather see a few good competitors in the market, because it forces innovation.
Micro-trans and FTP...F that. Either call it a freaking demo, or don't release it. Not free when I have to pay for every arrow or each link in my chainmail.
